HOLY SMOKE BATMAN…TOMORROW IS NEW YEARS EVE…
The eve of 2014- To me, this sounds like some utterly ridiculous Back to the Future sort of year which is still eons away but no, closer inspection of my brand spanking new ‘Family Organiser’ confirms that we are rapidly approaching the dawn of 2014.
Lets all take a moment now to say a quick WTF?!
By 2014 I was due to be an absolute, fully fledged, completely sorted, Grown up.
I expected to be swanning around like the stunning Kirsten Cohen from The OC (an actual documentary of real life set in the good ol’ U S of A).
Instead I find myself living in a onesie (often stained) careering from calamity to catastrophe via ongoing chaos, exposing myself to randomers at swimming pools and kissing doctors hands in error.
I am basically a hybrid of Roseanne (from Roseanne) and Deborah from Everybody loves Raymond stopping just north of Kerry Katona (and that is only because I’m still on husband numero uno- lucky little blighter that he is!!)

With Christmas Eve less than 20 days away no doubt you are wondering what to get your new parent friends for Christmas or perhaps your other half…
An integral part of my childhood and teen years was the NOW compilation albums.
I joined the party at NOW (that’s what I call music) 13
which contained such hits as

Mr L and I are currently contemplating where we should go on our first family holiday…
We have been together for 13 years this year.
For the first 11 we weren’t invited to a single wedding abroad.
We attended numerous nuptials in the UK but not a solitary soul got spliced in Sacramento, hitched in Hawaii or had nuptials in Nebraska…
When we were only 3
In the last two years however we have been invited to 5- count ’em, FIVE weddings that we have had to decline due to;
*all that other boring stuff that makes people reluctant to travel once they have kids.
This is annoying in the extreme (all our very best to all our friends who did get married abroad btw, they look like beautiful occasions. *sob*)
Anyway, we have decided that it is time to bite the bullet. Time to brave the boarders and hot foot it off on our hols. Read the rest of this entry »
